Season 8 Sneak Peek BREAKDOWN

The new sneak peek for the newest anticipated season, Sons of Garmadon, was released just a few days ago at San Diego Comic Con. If you haven’t seen it yet, here is the link:

 

Honestly, this trailer is confusing so little yet so much is happening in the 6 minutes that’s shown to excite our little fan hearts. I have a few points and/or theories I want to make for what I’ve seen.

It’s New Year’s in Ninjago- it looks as if they are celebrating Chinese New Year with dragons being the main spirit- it’s confirmed at least two years have passed between Possession all the way up to Season 8. Everyone seems to be wearing the same mask, perhaps to commemorate the dragon for the holiday. Lights, celebration, a typical, happy evening in the realm of Ninjago.

Now, six people (?) disguised as the ninja, wearing the same masks as everyone else, come out the crowd and sneak the streets to Borg Industries. Anyway, the six trigger the alarms by stealing what seems to be a red “Japanese demon mask” (judging by my research) and pulling out two dual red katanas. They escape the building, only to be countered by Lloyd Garmadon, the green ninja.

There’s a few changes for Lloyd- a new voice, if you already knew, his original voice actor, Jillian Michaels, was replaced by a new one, Sam Vincent. His design looks very familiar to the one from the Ninjago Movie, with the clothes and green eyes. He uses some classic spinjitzu to give them a dizzy, but the masked red impersonator gets away, artifacts stashed on his back. Lloyd immediately contacts Pixal to get his vehicle to chase after him.

Pixal- lost in Season 7 because of the Vermilion’s interference is now back? There were many theories going around about her being the new Samurai X, so perhaps she is not it, or her secret is already discovered. If that is not the case, where did Pixal go when she was disconnected from Zane? Is she a disembodied voice, like she has been for the last few seasons? Also, Lloyd’s been settling into his master/sensei role, as Pixal addresses him Master Lloyd.

 

Still in the dramatic car chase, the masked impersonator looks back, his eyes seeming inhuman-like. They seem to be red, in a shape similar to the Overlord. Getting away, they use a parachute, which has the symbol that strangely looks like Garmadon. Lloyd’s expression is in shock as the person escapes.
