After coming back from my hiatus, I immediately checked up on the most recent Ninjago news. I saw so many minfigures being released, so many that I can’t put it on all in one post. So here I am, looking through Youtube videos and Instagram posts trying to screenshot all the pictures so we’ll both know. Here are the images I found for the ninja, clad in their new ninja suits and weapons.
Here is Lloyd, green eyes and thick eyebrows. You can see the changes as he had regular eyes back in the shoes and different face template.You also don’t see his hair on the minfigures, which probably means it’s changed. Personally I don’t like the suit that much, because the color is too bright and goes against a ninja being stealthy. But I do like the two different face printing, one with a smile and one with a agressive look. It really gives the minifigure character!
I really like the color scheme, black with their intital ninja color. Jay looks better than the first picture in the other post I saw, and Kai looks great. The sleeveless gi on Cole reminds of Season 4, which is an element I especially enjoy. I also like the brown on his suit, because after all, his element is Earth.
Cole’s face on the left picture looks like his more relaxed one from the movie, which does look a little strange on his ninja gi. He has the same kantanas as Nya wore on her figure, and also has an RX suit. Orange is Cole’s favorite color, and it looks amazing on his suit, without This probably means that the show is going to delve more deeper into his RX powers, something that has sorely been ignored through Hands of Time.
Nya has elements that come from the movie, with the beauity mark on her lower right cheek. Personally I think it’s cute, but other people may think otherwise. Her suit is more darker than the others and has more a samurai feel to it, with the guards on her legs. She has left the maroon scheme behind, which is something I will miss since her blue and maroon look good together.
Zane comes last in this post, because he looks so different now. His faceplate is more robotic, with his eye looking completly transformed. This is different than the other face he had for this season, which was blue eyes and a stern look. This season does explore his past more, so maybe he is embracing more of his robot side.
Overall, I think the ninja suits look ok this season. It looks like the designers have tried a little too hard to smash some of the movie elements together, and some of the appeal of the figures looks awful with the colors. I wish that the designers had more defined line between the movie and the show, but I understand why they made it for marketing purposes.

I think even with the new face, Cole would looke pretty much the same. Cant beleive I’m saying this, but I kinda dig the manbun and it suits cole pretty well
poor lloyd. new voice, new minifig, new role in the ninja team… ‘The old Lloyd can’t come to the phone right now. Why? Oh, ‘cause he’s dead!’
